Dirty Laws are a 5-piece indie/rock band from Coventry/Birmingham. They were formed in mid 2006 and their music is influenced greatly by Led Zeppelin, Kasabian, Ocean Colour Scene, Hendrix, Oasis etc
With Mike on vox/harmonica slotting in the blues feel; H (Surely not the guy from Steps?) on lead guitar ; mixing different sounds, fusing together with second guitarist Neil. Craig switched from guitar to bass and drummer Matt is the thunder of the band, playing with extra heavy aluminium sticks.
Their music is a good gutsy blues rock feel and it's great to hear the harmonica which seems to have lost it's way it in today's bands. The production on their tracks is very professional for an unsigned act and you get the disctictive feelling that they actually enjoy playing together.
I'm surprised that they haven't yet been picked up by one of the mainstream labels yet but I guess the likes of EMI are looking to reduce the number of artists not add to their repertoire.
Have a listen to their stuff on MySpace - you'll be very pleasantly surprised at the quality of their music. Try and catch them live at the following venues
