ALTER ALGO Review
In their own words -
TRANSFENSCH constructs its music by combining sound worlds inspired by the cyber-media culture, oscillating between math-metal and psyche-electro. Beyond styles and standards, TRANSFENSCH produces its own experimentation and gathers a heterogeneous audience to discover what they call Cyberpunk Psyché. So there you have it!
The album ALTER ALGO describes human sensibilities synthesized into genetic algorithms to turn them into our cyber alter egos. Human identity is turned upside down to enter a new state of consciousness leading to the understanding of its functioning and its psyche.
ALTER ALGO is inspired by the books of Philip K.Dick, professor Joël de Rosnay, and by mangas such as Serial Experiments Lain and Ghost in the Shell, among others.
All these pieces of work where metaphysics, mathematics and psychedelic atmospheres are intricately related.
Revue
Philip K Dick often drew upon his own life experiences and addressed the nature of drug abuse, paranoia and schizophrenia. Well there's certainly feelings of paranoia and schizophrenia within the music often sounding at time like Gallows or Hadouken! However, there are lighter moments when the sounds are more reminiscent of Radiohead or their French peers Air.
Interesting stuff and worth checking out.
