The Monicans are a 3 piece psychedelic alt rock band based in Sheffield. Although, a Monican is the name given to the people of Monica from the MTV Aeon Flux animated series, Paul and Heather are from Australia with Lee the lone Englishman. (Alternatively, maybe the name is given to somebody from Santa Monica who doesn't believe in Father Christmas?)

They are about to release a double A side single of 'My Love' and 'Into the Rows'  and they're actually pretty good. They have a good mix of solid guitar and driving rythmn behind melodic vocals alternating punkesque screams. As they say -  the sound is sometimes sweet, oftentimes not, but always new and interesting. I guess that about sums it up, then.
