| Velvet Razor - Rainbow Warriors - Unsigned Act |
|
Monday, 21 June 2010 14:18
| Velvet Razor, an unsigned act from Weybridge, have released their debut EP, Rainbow Warriors, with 4 quality guitar based rock tracks in the classic mould.
Dave Kent is the visionary leader of the band, taking on roles as chief song-writer and lead guitarist, and he brings to life the Velvet Razor sound with influences ranging from the psychedelic 60’s and the melodic rock sound of the 70’s. This is all wrapped up amid some great modern compositions, beautiful melodies, thoughtful lyrics and high-class guitar work.

| The Beautiful Word - Mystery Pop - Unsigned Act |
|
Monday, 21 June 2010 09:16
| Tomorrow sees the digital release of 'Mystery Pop' the new EP from the Alternative/Pop/Folk band The Beautiful Word.
Formed in January 2007 by front girls Emily and Megan, who began singing harmonies for each other's tunes – their twinkly pretty little songs hushed even the rowdiest of open mic nights. They have since grown into a big whack of beautiful sound with added punch from the noise boys – Nelson on guitar joined first, followed by Gruff on the drums and then Scotty on bass in early 2008.

| Tiny Giants - Unsigned Act - Single - Free Downloads |
|
Thursday, 17 June 2010 16:50
| The Tiny Giants are a Leeds based three piece band formed at the end of 2009. Their sound of up beat rock mixed with blues and funky undertones, as well as their knack for penning songs with a catchy hook are reminiscent of Wishbone Ash (that's not meant to be an insult as I think that they were, and still are, a damn fine band). They claim, and I've no reason to disbelieve them, that they have built up a loyal fan base in an incredibly short period of time.

|
Friday, 11 June 2010 14:34
| Bottle of Evil is, despite sounding like a Death Metal act, a music project based on experimental electro acoustic ambient sounds overlaid with gentle harmonies.
They are two Lanarkshire (Scotland for the geographically challenged readers) musicians, Derek Bates (Evil Hand) and Steven McGilvary (Bottle of Steven). They have both been writing and performing with their own solo projects for many years, and Derek with his previous group, shoegaze noisters Genaro.

| Mark Kulmala - Unsigned Act - Ontario Canada |
|
Thursday, 10 June 2010 10:58
| Mark Kulmala is a Canadian and in the same program as Tokyo and Lauren - see review here. Like Dr Who he keeps regenerating - firstly from Heavy Metal to Chili Peppers and then to his current incarnation as an Indie acoustic folk singer. His stuff is pretty good (particularly the harmonies with Lauren) so catch them on his MySpace page before he's reborn regurgitating Nursery Rhymes.

| Lauren and Tokyo - unsigned act - Free Downloads |
|
Monday, 07 June 2010 14:47
| Lauren Campbell is a musician from Orillia Ontario and Tokyo is a musician from Aylmer Quebec. They met in September 09 at Fanshawe College in the Music Industry Arts program, and began jamming. Lauren's hippy folk melodies and easy flowing vocals mixed with Tokyo's calculated lyrics and eclectic production created a surprisingly fitting entity of its own. Lauren and Tokyo now have enough tunes to release an EP (any record companies reading this??)

| Morgen La Civita - Unsigned Act |
|
Tuesday, 25 May 2010 14:43
| For centuries music has been used to protest, raise awareness or change attitudes. Lampooning Politicians, stopping wars, promoting freedom or protecting the environment have all had their fair share of musical sponsors.
Morgan La Civita is a little different . She's an unsigned artist with a home studio where she writes, records and mixes all her music with her Grammy winning husband Jake R. Tanner. Her debut album "From The Basement" was released in February 2010 and all proceeds from the album go to www.Ndss.org (National Down Syndrome Society) - a worthwhile, if not particularly fashionable, cause.

| Bullit - EP: Get With It - Tour Dates - Unsigned Act |
|
Saturday, 15 May 2010 10:24
| If you ever wondered what music The Police would be doing if they still around look no further than BULLiT. This Southern English 3 piece are a re-incarnation of Sting/Summers/Copeland which is no bad thing.
Their debut EP is released on Monday and is a great collect of 4 tight songs, any one of which could have been released as a single. They have caught the Zeitgeist with the 80s revival in music and television.
Check them out on the MySpace page
