Tim McIver's band 'Tim & Sam’s Tim & the Sam Band with Tim & Sam' (who we shall call T & S) debut album, Life Stream, is released on 'Star Wars day' or May the Fourth be with you Luke.
I've been priviliged to a preview of the album and it's a collection of beautiful songs, stunning arrangements full of natural sounds from instruments not usually associated with modern music. We're talking genuine instruments not the electronic keyboard interpretations.
In their own words 'Based in North Wales, the band use beautiful views of rolling countryside as their muse. Together, they have the gift of creating daydream inducing, intertwining arrangements, that will pick you up and take you to a simpler place. Where the stresses of day-to-day life disappear in a musical landscape of beauty and harmony'
Or, as I would put it - perfect for the Sunday morning after 'the night before'
With eleven tracks, the album flows in a way that reflects the natural rhythms that inspire the music, and in a world that can be so dark and troubled, Life Stream is a joyous and uplifting contrast that lightens the heart and raises the spirit. Such a long recording process hasn’t been without its problems. T & S have dealt with line-up changes, re-recording and re-mixing, all whilst running a record label and sticking to a busy touring schedule that has seen them play hundreds of gigs up and down the country. T & S are excited to be revisiting their favourite venues, playing some new ones and launching Life Stream on CD, vinyl and download through their own label, Full of Joy Records.
T & S started their live career at Manchester’s world renowned In The City festival. Since then, the band have played over 200 live shows, including sets at Latitude, Swn and The Great Escape festivals. All four members of T & S are accomplished multi-instrumentalists, effortlessly switching between instruments such as Glockenspiel, Harmonium and Clarinet during their live performances. Tim McIver takes the lead role and constantly impresses fans with the flawless use of his acoustic guitar and loop pedals. Their live set builds to a climax with three members of the band taking to the drums and building a firework like crescendo.
