If you're one of the 8 million people who own a copy of video game 'Just Dance 3', you already know ANJA. If you're not, then the likelihood is it won't be long before you know her too. With long blond hair and piercing blue eyes, there's no prizes for guessing the Scandinavian origins of this new pop bombshell, but there's a unique story behind her upcoming assault on the music industry.

Growing up in the Norwegian countryside, ANJA's dream to sing was initially met with dirision by her peers. They didn't believe that someone from their small town would ever make it into mainstream popular culture.

The first sign that they could be made to eat their words came when ANJA managed to enroll in Liverpool's prestigious Paul McCartney school. From there she gained experience playing gigs between classes, including huge sets at London Fashion Week and the MTV European Music Awards. She even did a stint on a Norwegian Cruiseliner, singing at night and waitressing by day to pay her way.

Her 'big break' came in 2009, beginning in the unlikely guise of winning a job writing for a small music magazine. Travelling to Los Angeles to cover Michael Jackson's funeral, she fell in love with the city and moved there for good as soon as she could. Soon after, her music was discovered by Ubisoft, and she was signed up to contribute to the playlists for the multi-million selling 'Just Dance' game series.

This experience and exposure gave ANJA the opportunity she'd always wanted - to bring her music to a wider audience. She is currently working with Ubisoft and Circle Road Records to release an album in the Autumn, an LP hotly anticipated in pop circles on both sides of the Atlantic. With dance pop having such an influence on the charts at the moment, it would take a lot to bet against great success.

So if you're a lover of pure pop, check out ANJA:
