The current single from Surrey and South East London's Third Light, Time to Shine, is out now and off their soon to be released debut album 'Built by Machines'.
It also includes re-recordings of their previous singles "Gone Too Long" which was used on TV advertisements for Popworld Pulp magazine and the Barclays Premiership and an instrumental track, "When Are You Gonna Give Yourself A Chance?" which was used in an Aston Martin video production.
Third Light are, in their own words,
Frontman and chief songwriter David Wallis is blessed with a gift for melody. He is a proficient guitarist and piano player and has been writing songs since he was old enough to lift an instrument. Lead guitarist and the band's producer, Mike Payne, is a talented mult-instrumentalist and sound specialist. Payne is single-handedly responsible for Third Light's stylised, soaring, effects-laden guitar noise; as well as composing several Third Light instrumental tracks and engineering, recording and producing all the band's work. Bassist Martin Bell contributes lyrics and structure to Wallis' songs as required, and ensures that Third Light music is driving and dynamic in the bottom-end sound. Drummer Richard Stillman is a classically-trained musician and contributes melody and structure, as well as powerful drum parts, to the music.
They also claim that their anthemic pop-rock is"built for stadiums, not pubs' .. and who am I to argue?
