Philadelphia Grand Jury release their first UK single, The Good News/Ready to Roll today. This is the fifth instalment in the third year of limited 7” releases on the Too Pure Singles Club (borne from the ashes of the celebrated London indie label).
The Philly Jays, as they are known to their loyal fans, has always been two friends: Berkfinger and MC Bad Genius and they have had a rotating ensemble of drummers – until now. Joining Berkfinger and MC Bad Genius is 54 year-old African American drummer ‘Calvin’, who used to session drum for US disco and funk acts like Earth Wind and Fire and bebop legend Sonny Stitt.
Watch the video below and see if you can find Wally and/or PGJ and/or a drummer.
