Glen Matlock, the former Sex Pistols bassist, takes time out prior to touring with The Faces to play with his band Glen Matlock And The Philistines.

They are doing a one off gig at the recently saved 100 Club in Oxford Street, London on Thursday 16th June.

Last year The Philistines recorded a new album - “Born Running” – featuring 12 original Matlock songs. These driving, melodic rock songs are particularly poignant as they feature the last recordings of old friend and guitarist Steve New. Released Autumn 2010 “Born Running” is out on the Floating World/Peppermint label (FREEM5024).

As a special bonus a new single “Hey Mister” (not on the album) is released on June 16th to coincide with the 100 Club gig. Another original song, it features Javier Weyler (Stereophonics) on drums, Jim Lowe (Stereophonics’ producer) on bass, James Stephenson (Alarm, Generation X etc) on lead guitar, Maggi Ronson, Tracie Hunter and Elizabeth Westwood on backing vocals and Glen on lead vocals and rhythm guitar.

Doors open 7.30pm and tickets are priced £10 in advance and £12.50 on the door and are available here

After this gig, alongside Ronnie Wood, Ian Mclagan, Kenny Jones and Mick Hucknall on vocals, Glen bounds into the late, great, Ronnie Lane’s shoes to play a series of world-wide live dates with the reformed Faces.
