On the 31st October Manic Street Preachers will release National Treasures – The Complete Singles and have announced details of a very special one-off Christmas show performing all the songs on the album at the O2 in London on Saturday 17th December. NATIONAL TREASURES features the band's 37 previous single releases from the last 21 years and 10 studio albums and a brand new single This Is The Day. It's also the first time since 1992's Suicide Is Painless (Theme from M*A*S*H) that the Manics have released a cover version as a single despite recording and playing live many versions of their favourite tracks over the years. Formats and the tracklisting for the album have also now been confirmed, see details below.
Hailing from Dundee in Scotland, Make Sparks - Craig Parker (Guitar & Vocals), Bobby Garland (Bass & Vocals), and Adam Parker (Drums & Vocals) - have been making music together since their early teens. An Aberdeen student is preparing to raise a large sum of money for the Gambian Schools Trust with a charity gig held in the city centre.
Emma Wright, 19, studying Primary Education at the University of Aberdeen, is passionate about teaching and aims to raise as much money as possible for the Gambian Schools Trust with a top charity gig.
The Gig for Gambia, to be held on the 24th of June at The Tunnels, Aberdeen, will feature a stellar line-up of the city’s top singer-songwriters. Appearing at the event, which kicks off at 6.30pm, will be:-

Bombay Bicycle Club head out on their biggest UK headline tour to date this Autumn, off the back of releasing their third album, ‘A Different Kind of Fix’ on August 29th. After last summer’s acoustic dates, this tour will see the band with guitars fully plugged back in.
